The Member of Parliament for Suaman Constituency in the Western North Region, Frederick Addy, has supported newly admitted Senior High School (SHS) students in the constituency with essential items to help them begin their education.

A total of 600 students benefited from the initiative. Items distributed included 400 mattresses, 400 trunks, 200 school bags, 150 boxes of pens, 200 mathematical sets and 3,000 exercise books.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Frederick Addy said the items were provided from his MP’s Common Fund to support students who needed assistance with essential school supplies.

According to him, the MP’s Common Fund is intended to support the development and welfare of the people of Suaman, particularly those who require assistance to improve their livelihoods and education.

Mr. Addy pledged to continue supporting students and other residents of the constituency whenever resources are available.

Some parents who benefited from the initiative expressed appreciation to the MP for the gesture. They said the rising cost of school items had made it difficult for some families to provide all the necessary supplies for their children, adding that the support had reduced the financial burden on them.

The parents urged the MP to sustain the initiative to enable more students in the constituency to benefit in the future.
