The government’s Free Primary Healthcare policy is aimed at improving access to basic healthcare services for Ghanaians, particularly at the community level through CHPS compounds, health centres and other primary healthcare facilities.
During the launch of the Free Primary Healthcare programme in the Western North Region, the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, announced plans to provide container-based CHPS facilities in selected communities, including Juaboso and Boinzan in the Juaboso District, as well as other parts of the region.
As part of its monitoring of development projects in the region, Legendreport visited Sefwi Boinzan to assess the progress of the container CHPS facility promised to the community.
Legendreport can confirm that the Boinzan container CHPS facility is approximately 90% complete.
The facility is expected to be completed, commissioned and made operational soon to provide basic healthcare services to residents of Boinzan and surrounding communities.
The project is expected to bring primary healthcare services closer to residents and support the government’s objective of improving access to healthcare at the community level.
