The Chief of Sefwi Boinzan and Acting President of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council, Nana Ofori Ahenkah II, has expressed concern over the increasing resources being spent by the Interior Ministry on chieftaincy disputes across Ghana. According to him, chieftaincy disputes have become a major burden on the ministry, requiring significant financial resources, time, and effort to manage. He noted that security agencies are often compelled to deploy personnel and resources to maintain law and order and restore peace in communities affected by such disputes.

Nana Ofori Ahenkah II stated that, aside from the Interior Ministry, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) also spend substantial portions of their revenue addressing issues arising from chieftaincy conflicts.
He stressed that this situation is not beneficial to national development, emphasizing that the chieftaincy institution plays a vital role in promoting peace, unity, and development within communities.
The traditional leader, therefore, called on chiefs, kingmakers, and all stakeholders within the chieftaincy institution to embrace dialogue, respect customary processes, and seek peaceful resolutions to disagreements.

He further emphasized that peace and unity within traditional areas are essential for sustainable development and social progress across the country.
